CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking an experienced Energy Manager to lead the development and delivery of energy reduction initiatives across a diverse property portfolio in the Greater London area. The role focuses on shaping energy strategy, driving measurable cost and carbon savings, and partnering with clients to implement data-driven energy solutions from concept to completion.

Qualifications

  • Proven Energy Management Experience in sustainability, utilities or building services.
  • Strong Technical Knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting, BMS and energy efficiency technologies.
  • Relevant Professional Qualifications including a degree in a related field; Low Carbon Consultant accreditation preferred.
  • Project Management capability delivering energy/M&E projects from feasibility to implementation, on time and budget.
  • Analytical and Commercial mindset for interpreting energy data, feasibility studies and investment decisions.
  • Stakeholder and communication skills to influence decisions and drive energy savings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Energy Strategy Development: develop and implement long-term energy strategies aligned with objectives and targets.
  • Deliver Energy & Carbon Reduction Projects: identify, assess and implement efficiency initiatives through feasibility, business case development, implementation and verification.
  • Provide Technical Energy Expertise: act as SME on energy management, utilities, HVAC, lighting, BMS, legislation and new tech.
  • Conduct Energy Audits & Assessments: perform surveys, feasibility studies and AC inspections to identify opportunities.
  • Monitor Performance & Reporting: analyse utility data, benchmark performance, track emissions and produce stakeholder reports.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: work with clients, facilities teams and contractors to drive continuous improvement and savings.

We're looking for an experienced Energy Manager to lead the development and delivery of energy reduction initiatives across a diverse property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to influence sustainability strategy, improve operational performance, and deliver measurable cost and carbon savings while partnering closely with clients and stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for developing innovative energy solutions, managing projects from concept to completion, and ensuring energy performance targets are achieved through data-driven decision making and best-in-class practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Energy Strategy Development: Develop and implement long-term energy strategies that align with organisational objectives, sustainability commitments, and energy reduction targets.
  • Deliver Energy & Carbon Reduction Projects: Identify, assess and implement energy efficiency initiatives, managing projects through feasibility, business case development, implementation and verification.
  • Provide Technical Energy Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on energy management, utilities, HVAC, lighting, BMS, legislation and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct Energy Audits & Assessments: Undertake comprehensive energy surveys, feasibility studies and air conditioning inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and investment.
  • Monitor Performance & Reporting: Analyse utility consumption data, benchmark performance, track emissions targets and produce insightful reports for stakeholders and clients.
  • Build Strong Client Relationships: Partner with clients, facilities teams and contractors to drive continuous improvement, maximise energy savings and deliver outstanding service.
Person Specification
  • Proven Energy Management Experience: Demonstrable experience in energy management, sustainability, utilities, or building services environments.
  • Strong Technical Knowledge: Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, lighting, refrigeration, Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy efficiency technologies.
  • Relevant Professional Qualifications: Degree-level qualification in Energy Management, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, with Low Carbon Consultant accreditation preferred.
  • Project Management Capability: Experience delivering energy or M&E projects from feasibility through to implementation, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Analytical & Commercial Mindset: Ability to interpret energy data, conduct feasibility studies, assess payback periods and support investment decisions.
  • Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Confident engaging with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders, with the ability to influence decisions and drive energy-saving outcomes.
