Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to work on energy transmission projects at Aberthaw and Llandyfaelog, with the commercial team based off site in a client co-located office in Bristol/Cardiff. The role focuses on valuation, cost reporting, subcontract administration, change management and final accounts.

The ideal candidate will have proven commercial experience, be registered with RICS/ICES or working towards chartership, and possess strong knowledge of NEC contracts and standard

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Commercial role e.g., Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor.
• Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and Standard Methods of Measurement.

Responsibilities

• Aid in internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with contract documentation.
• Manage cost reports to the client with contract-compliant documents.
• Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering.
• Allocate costs using appropriate coding.
• Measure quantities per standard methods.
• Assist in preparing project final accounts.
• Draft subcontracts including professional services.
