Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead energy sector projects, including district heating or energy centres, from design through handover. The role covers on-site leadership, subcontractor management, and close collaboration with the design team.

You will ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintain health and safety standards, prepare contracts, and report progress to senior management. Travel between office and sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding in managing design and build projects.
• Proven track record of managing a team and delivering Energy sector or M&E installation projects.
• Prepare Contract Documents i.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFIs, Technical Submissions, etc.
• Thorough understanding of M&E works and in-depth knowledge of the construction process.
• Prepare handover documents i.e. O&M Manuals and Record Drawings.
• Health and safety on site management.
• Zero defects attitude.
• Flexibility to travel, working between main office and site based.
• Must have previous experience of working within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the delivery of Energy sector projects on time and within budget, whilst exceeding customer expectations.
• To oversee staff and sub-contractors on-site, including day-to-day support and training, and resolve issues.
• To participate in progress meetings with key stakeholders and customers.
• To ensure M&E services are properly installed and commissioned.
• Provide front end design & preconstruction management where required.
• Ensure Health & Safety policies are adhered to at all times.
• Oversee mechanical projects from conception through to handover.
• Prepare and update H&S documentation and SMS.
• Manage procurement of all equipment and approvals within budgets.
• Prepare and update programmes for construction and commissioning.
• Work with the design team to ensure compliance.
• Report progress to senior management.
• Assist commercial with financial aspects and labour projections.
• Attend/chair client/site meetings.
• Deal with aftercare and close out defects.
