Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is seeking an Energy Operations Analyst (Scheduling) in Bristol for up to 2 years, with hybrid working options after initial training. The role focuses on scheduling flexibility services, analysis, and tool development to ensure safe, reliable network operation.

You will work in a data-driven environment, using Excel Power Query, Python scripting, and SQL databases to support EMC Engineers, DNO Control, and the Flexibility Markets Team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a data-driven environment.
• Proficient with advanced MS Excel and Power Query.
• Scripting experience in Python for data processing.
• Experience querying Microsoft SQL Server and SQLite databases.

Responsibilities

• Operate scheduling and instruction of flexibility services within an established framework.
• Communicate identified flexibility shortfalls to EMC Engineers and DNO Control.
• Analyze and report on scheduling and instruction of Flexibility Services.
• Support the Head of DSO Operations in developing tools and processes for scheduling.
• Coordinate with the Flexibility Markets Team to improve performance of delivery.
