Job summary

MC Technical Recruitment seeks a Shift Operations Technician to operate an Energy Recovery Facility from the control room and on site. You will manage the 24-hour shift pattern and 40-hour weekly schedule, including nights, with emphasis on safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations.

The role requires hands-on control room and field work, fault diagnosis, plant isolations, and monitoring performance to meet environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical or process plant experience.
• Understanding of plant isolations and safe systems of work.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
• Authorised Person status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operating the DCS and responding to alarms.
• Monitoring and optimising plant performance.
• Diagnosing and rectifying process/equipment faults.
• Carrying out plant isolations and safe systems of work.
• Monitoring boiler chemistry and environmental compliance.
• Completing accurate shift logs and handovers.
• Other duties as required
