CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY is seeking a Trainee Energy Advisor to join our Household Energy Services team in Bristol. This fixed-term role (12 months, 37.5 hours per week) offers on-site work, a structured training programme including City & Guilds Energy Awareness, and progression to Energy Advisor on successful completion of probation.

You will handle energy questions on our advice line, assist with grant applications, refer clients to installers, and help vulnerable households with billing

Qualifications

• Ability to respond to clients in a respectful and engaging manner.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate with others.
• Strong admin and data-record keeping abilities.
• Well-organised with good time management.
• Empathy and safeguarding awareness.
• Willingness to complete City & Guilds training modules.

Responsibilities

• Handle the advice line and related telephone projects.
• Record client details accurately and assess needs.
• Refer clients to local support and installers as appropriate.
• Identify energy improvements and connect clients with installers.
• Assist with grants and tariff switching for vulnerable clients.
• Maintain records and handle data in line with GDPR.
