Job summary

Carbon Co-op is seeking a compassionate Energy Advisor for the Energise Manchester project in Manchester, UK. The role focuses on supportive, one-to-one guidance for households vulnerable to energy crises, including damp, heating, and bills navigation.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds with empathy and strong communication. The contract is fixed-term until February 2028, with potential extension, and a flexible 0.8–1 FTE arrangement. Starting as soon as possible after offer.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a frontline public-facing role.
  • Ability to engage with vulnerable communities with empathy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and partners.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nonjudgmental energy advice to households at risk.
  • Deliver inclusive, engaging services to diverse clients.
  • Help clients understand energy bills and available supports.
  • Work in-person at community hubs and over the phone.
  • Empower clients to resolve future energy issues themselves.
  • Design appointments and drop-ins to enable access to support.
  • Refer to further support and remove barriers to access.
  • Promote the full energy advice service with the team.
