Job summary

SuperCare in Ilford, England is seeking a Day Coach to provide energy, warmth, and structure to children with learning disabilities. The role involves guiding daily routines, educational engagement, and safe, calm responses to occasional aggression.

You will work hands-on throughout the day, supporting children to feel safe, engaged, and cared for, while building trust through humour and warmth. Training and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities.
• Confidence managing physical aggression and willing to use safe holds if needed.
• Energetic, bubbly, and able to keep pace with active children.
• Strong English skills (spoken and written) and good initiative.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to connect with children at their level.

Responsibilities

• Support children with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, and travel to school.
• Keep children engaged through play, conversation, and structured activities.
• Help with homework and encourage educational engagement, using tools like now and next and social stories.
• Respond with calm and professionalism to physical aggression, property damage, or defiance.
• Supervise children closely, ensuring they are never left without interaction or support.
• Build trust and relationships through humour, energy, and warmth.
