Job summary

SuperCare is seeking a Senior Day Coach for Ilford, England, to support children directly and mentor junior staff during busy days. You will help maintain a warm, engaging atmosphere while guiding less experienced colleagues through practical examples.

The role requires 2+ years in SEN/residential care, a Level 3 Diploma (or moving toward it), and strong skills in behaviour support. Competitive salary and progression opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in SEN, residential, or learning disability support.
• Level 3 Diploma (or working towards it).
• Skilled in behaviour support and confident with aggression.
• Fun, energetic, and resilient — engaging for children and supportive for staff.

Responsibilities

• Support children directly while mentoring junior colleagues through example and encouragement.
• Assist with hygiene, education, routines, and active play for children.
• Respond to behaviours with calm, consistent strategies.
• Model positive practice for less experienced staff.
• Encourage children’s independence through prompting, teaching, and play.
• Help the team stay resilient as a reliable, supportive presence.
