Job summary

SuperCare Residential in Ilford is seeking a Day Coach to provide energy, warmth and structure for children with learning disabilities. You will run daily routines, engage through play, and support education while staying calm during challenging moments.

The role requires experience with this client group, the ability to safely manage aggression, strong English skills, and genuine care. A funded Level 3 Diploma is offered along with private healthcare and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with learning disabilities.
• Ability to manage physical aggression safely and calmly.
• Energetic, bubbly and able to keep pace with active children.
• Strong English skills (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Support children with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, and travel to school.
• Keep children engaged through play, conversation, and structured activities.
• Help with homework and educational engagement using tools like now and next and social stories.
• Respond with calm and professionalism to physical aggression, property damage, or defiance.
• Supervise children closely, ensuring they are never left without interaction or support.
• Build trust and relationships through humour, energy and warmth.
