The NHS in Stockport is seeking an Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer to manage the booking process for patients in the Endoscopy Unit. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery, managing waiting lists, and maintaining patient information accurately.
The Endoscopy Administration Department provides the administrative support to the Endoscopy Unit. As part of a team, The Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer will take a lead role in managing waiting lists for a delegated number of consultants. The Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer is responsible for managing all of the 2WW, urgent, routine and planned patients through the booking process, this includes adding patient to the waiting list, booking the appropriate appointment, sending out the patient bowel preparation and information leaflets about the procedure, while acting as a point of contact for the patients if they have any queries about their appointment. The Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer will also direct any clinical questions to the Endoscopy nurses to ensure professional caring and efficient service is provided to the patient prior to their admission. This service is provided within national and local booking time targets. The Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer will Co-ordinate's admissions and associated pre-operative assessment clinics and endoscopy lists. The Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer plays a key central role within these services and is required to work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, patients and the general public. Exercises initiative, independent judgement and decision-making with situations arising from the duties described below to ensure an effective, high-quality service.
Managing all the urgent, routine and planned patients through the booking process, this includes adding patient to the waiting list, booking the appropriate appointment from clinic and off the PTL, sending out the patient bowel preparation and information leaflets about the procedure, while acting as a point of contact for the patients if they have any queries about their appointment.

1. To take a lead role in managing the waiting list of a group of Consultants using PMS, in accordance with Trust Policies and government wait time targets.
2. Monitor the waiting list and work list on a daily basis to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached.
3. To co-ordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics, ensuring all key hospital staff are aware of organisational arrangements and that relevant medical records are available in time for the procedure.
4. To ensure that problems highlighted from routine reports are actioned in a timely matter i.e. TCIs in the past, outpatient outcomes, inpatient and day case booking etc.
5. To understand and comply with Private Patient protocols, including arranging additional lists/overruns of existing lists to accommodate these patients and ensuring that appropriate information is shared with finance/Private Patient offices.
6. To author and edit weekly Admissions List and other essential documents to be used by all stakeholders.
7. To ensure that information regarding additional resources are passed to patients as required e.g. information regarding how to book transport for them to arrive at the expected time.
8. To arrange interpretation services for all relevant appointments.
