Job description

The Endoscopy Administration Department provides administrative support to the Endoscopy Unit. As part of a team, the Endoscopy booking and scheduling officer will manage waiting lists for delegated consultants. The officer is responsible for handling all 2WW, urgent, routine, and planned patients through the booking process, including adding patients to waiting lists, booking appointments, sending bowel preparation and information leaflets, and acting as a point of contact for patient queries. They will direct clinical questions to Endoscopy nurses to ensure professional and efficient service, within national and local booking time targets. The role also involves coordinating admissions, pre-operative assessments, and endoscopy lists, working closely with NHS colleagues, patients, and the public. The officer exercises initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making to ensure high-quality service.

The role includes managing all patient bookings, coordinating appointments, and providing patient information. The service is a key provider within the Stockport community, and the organization values workforce diversity, encouraging applications from underrepresented groups.
