Job summary

CHEC Ilford is seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Practitioner to join our team. You will work under the Lead Endoscopy Practitioner and Hospital Manager to deliver high-quality patient care from pre-admission to recovery, ensuring safety and dignity throughout procedures.

The role requires 37.5 hours over 4 days, including some weekends, with shifts 07:30–17:30. Travel to CHEC hospitals for training is possible within the normal working day.

Qualifications

• Registered practitioner with the NMC or HCPC.
• Experience in endoscopy preferred.
• Committed to high-quality patient care.
• Willing to travel to CHEC hospitals for training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clinical areas and equipment per infection control protocols.
• Assist with admissions, take baseline observations, request sedation when competent.
• Support the Endoscopist during procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Help ensure endoscopy list flows smoothly per CHEC SOPs.
• Participate in CQC and JAG accreditation training requirements.
• Monitor recovery and provide post-procedure care and discharge instructions.
