Job summary

CHEC seeks a dedicated endoscopy support practitioner in Coventry to join the permanent team. You will assist the endoscopist, prepare procedure rooms, and monitor patients under sedation while maintaining safety and dignity throughout the patient pathway.

The role requires NMC or HCPC registration, Enhanced DBS, and is full-time across four days in seven with some weekend work. Training opportunities across CHEC hospitals are available.

Qualifications

• Registration with NMC or HCPC is required.
• Eligible for Enhanced DBS check.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

• Work across the full patient pathway from pre-admission to discharge.
• Prepare clinical areas and equipment following infection control protocols.
• Take part in admissions, record baseline observations and request sedation when competent.
• Assist the endoscopist in the procedure room, including instrument prep and patient positioning.
• Monitor patients during recovery and discharge instructions, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Support the endoscopy list and participate in accreditation/compliance work.
