Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Payroll Executive in Teesside to own a portfolio of client payrolls from data input to final submission. The role requires end-to-end payroll experience, in-depth knowledge of UK PAYE and auto-enrolment, and the ability to manage multiple payrolls with strict deadlines.

You will ensure accurate payroll processing, adapt to changes (starters/leavers, amendments), and maintain compliance across pension requirements.

Qualifications

• At least two years' end-to-end payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE and auto-enrolment.
• Experience handling multiple payrolls and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent numerical skills for statutory payments.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish with accuracy and timeliness.
• Process payroll changes: starters, leavers, salary amendments, pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Calculate PAYE, NIC, SSP, maternity/paternity and other statutory payments.
• Maintain payroll records, software and employee data for compliance.
• Handle year-end activities and deadlines, including reporting.
• Oversee pension administration and auto-enrolment obligations.
• Respond to client payroll queries with a professional service.
• Produce payroll reports and journals ensuring data accuracy.
• Keep up to date with payroll legislation changes and best practices.
• Build strong client relationships and collaborate with colleagues to deliver service.
