Job summary

Gordon Murray Group in Windlesham, UK, is seeking a Lead Engineer – Engine Management Systems (EMS) to own EMS software and calibration delivery across Gordon Murray Automotive programmes. You will provide technical leadership and ensure EMS solutions are production-ready and fully integrated with vehicle systems.

The role requires managing external partners, defining requirements, and maintaining regulatory readiness while balancing performance, emissions and durability.

Qualifications

• Extensive EMS experience within automotive OEM or Tier 1 environments.
• Experience managing externally developed EMS software and calibration.
• Strong understanding of EMS architectures, diagnostics and fail-safe strategies.
• Knowledge of emissions, OBD2 and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own EMS software and calibration delivery across programmes.
• Define technical requirements and acceptance criteria for external suppliers.
• Act as single point of accountability for EMS performance and regulatory readiness.
• Lead third‑party EMS software, calibration and Tier 1 partners.
