Job summary

Scarborough Transit Connect is seeking an Environmental Management System (EMS) Compliance Coordinator to join our team in Ontario. You will support the EMS program aligned with ISO 14001, maintain documentation, and work with the Environmental and Compliance teams on audits, data dashboards, and training.

The role requires 5+ years in environmental roles, a relevant environmental degree, ISO 14001 auditing credentials, and strong data/office skills.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in environmental industry.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental discipline.
• ISO 14001 auditor certification and EMS implementation/audit experience.
• Proficiency in data management tools and analysis to inform decisions.
• Understanding of Ontario environmental regulations and transit project context.
• Experience with major transit projects is an asset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G).

Responsibilities

• Assist Environmental Director with EMS ISO 14001 implementation, maintenance, and updates.
• Ensure EMS documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate with site environmental inspector to organize EMS records in the EMS software.
• Set up and troubleshoot IT tools for EMS training, supplier management, inspections.
• Prepare annual EMS Management Review draft per EMS manual and ISO 14001.
• Consolidate EMS data and create dashboards for KPIs.
• Prepare internal EMS communications with the Comms and Environmental Teams.
• Deliver EMS training for employees and contractors.
• Attend EWG meetings, draft minutes, and assist with presentations.
• Coordinate EMS audits and non-conformance resolution with Compliance Officer.
• Consolidate sustainability data for biannual Construction Sustainability Report.
• Maintain Submittal Tracker for environmental submittals.
• Assist with environmental budget forecasting and procurement documentation.
• Educate team on procurement procedures for environmental goods/services.
