Job summary

Hft is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to empower adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible. You will support daily living, encourage participation in activities, and safeguard wellbeing with a person-centered approach.

You’ll promote confidence, record keeping, and DBS compliance while working flexible shifts to fit the needs of service users and the team.

Qualifications

• You’re patient, respectful, and supportive of people’s choices.
• You communicate clearly to build trust and relationships.
• You are open to learning and gaining a Health and Social Care qualification.
• You can provide personal support and adapt to shifts including evenings and weekends.
• You may have experience in social care, but attitude matters most.

Responsibilities

• Empower independence and dignity for adults with learning disabilities.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure, work, and community activities.
• Promote health, safety and wellbeing while respecting choices.
• Support attendance at health appointments and manage medications confidently.
• Build skills and confidence and support daily living activities.
• Maintain records and follow safeguarding practices to keep people safe.
