Job summary

New Directions Recruitment Agency in Pontypool area is seeking experienced Support Workers to assist young people in supported living services. You will provide day-to-day, person-centred support to help develop essential life skills and confidence.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of relevant experience, a valid DBS, and a full UK driving licence. The role offers weekly pay, flexible shifts including evenings and weekends, and ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' relevant Support Worker experience.
• A valid DBS is essential.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Previous experience working with young people is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, patient and professional approach.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
• Supporting with daily routines, independent living skills and household tasks.
• Encouraging education, employment, social activities and positive community engagement.
• Supporting young people with appointments and activities.
• Building positive, professional relationships and acting as a positive role model.
• Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or changes in wellbeing.
• Promoting independence, confidence, dignity and choice at all times.
