Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking compassionate Youth Mentors to support pupils in a secondary SEMH setting in Stockport. You will provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring, helping pupils build confidence, emotional resilience, and positive behaviours to engage with education.

The role focuses on developing strategies for emotional regulation, monitoring progress, and creating a calm, inclusive environment. Starting ASAP, 8:30am-3:45pm, pays from £97 per day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in educational or safeguarding settings.
• Ability to form positive relationships and provide mentoring.
• Experience with learners with SEMH and associated needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting, and meaningful relationships with pupils.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring and pastoral support.
• Help young people develop strategies for emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, and structured activities.
• Implement individual behaviour support plans and targeted interventions.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
• Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued.
