Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. You will support teachers and students, helping create a safe, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

The role suits an experienced TA or someone looking to progress in education, with a focus on safeguarding, development of student potential, and strong teamwork with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or education setting is desirable.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant or education-based qualification.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and supporting students in an educational environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive, caring, and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students across the secondary school, both in and outside of the classroom.
• Assist teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
• Support students with their learning, development, and wellbeing.
• Provide additional support to students who may have SEND or require additional learning assistance.
• Build positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and colleagues.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and day-to-day school routines.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
