Job summary

KINGS OAK ACADEMY invites applications for a Teaching Assistant - Level 1 to support pupils across Middle & Upper School. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time with an 8:30am-3:00pm schedule and 30-minute unpaid break, starting 4 January 2027 pending checks.

The position supports learning, behaviour, and wellbeing, with opportunities for professional development within a high-performing, inclusive schooling environment. Applications require safeguarding compliance and commitment to equity.

Qualifications

• Be able to engage students and manage behaviour on a one to one or small group basis.

Responsibilities

• Support students by implementing appropriate strategies and techniques to enable access to the curriculum and active engagement in high-quality classroom learning.
• Take responsibility for delivering planned learning activities and supporting teaching programmes, adapting approaches to students’ needs.
• Contribute to measurable improvements in student attainment and social/emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school support services in a mainstream secondary setting focusing on academic achievement and personal development.
