Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf for a specialist school in Doncaster. You will help deaf and hearing-impaired pupils access learning across subjects and year groups, adapting materials to ensure inclusion.

You will work with pupils using BSL, spoken language, and hearing technology, collaborating with specialists and families to support progress. The ideal candidate holds QTS (or equivalent) and MQ for Deaf education, with experience in specialist settings.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Mandatory MQ qualification for Deaf Children and Young People.
• Experience teaching deaf or hearing-impaired pupils.
• Knowledge of hearing technology and inclusive classroom practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• BSL skills are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support deaf pupils across subjects and year groups.
• Adapt lessons to ensure full access to learning.
• Support pupils using BSL, spoken language or hearing technology.
• Collaborate with TAs, Speech and Language Therapists, Audiologists and families.
• Monitor academic, social and emotional development.
• Help pupils build confidence and independence.
