Job summary

The Salvation Army's Manchester Homeless Services is seeking a Support Worker to deliver a high-quality, person-centred support programme for adults experiencing homelessness. You will help clients access housing, healthcare, employment and training, while promoting wellbeing and independent living skills.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness or vulnerability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage workload and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Person-centred approach with commitment to trauma-informed practice.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience working within Homelessness.
• Handle cash and ensure accounting records are accurate.
• Handle incoming telephone calls and mail appropriately.
• Maintain friendly, professional, positive experience for clients, visitors and colleagues.
• Work as part of the wider team to ensure a positive experience at Manchester Homelessness Services.
