Job summary

Southdown is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for Magdalene Court in Midhurst, West Sussex. You will assist adults with learning disabilities with daily living tasks, encourage community participation, and provide person-centered care to help clients live independently and with dignity.

The role offers varied shifts, including sleep-ins and waking night hours, with training provided and DBS covered. A full driving licence is desirable, and health-cost benefits are available.

Qualifications

• A patient, empathetic approach
• Willingness to complete Southdown’s training in health & social care, moving and handling, Positive Behaviour Support, safeguarding, health protocols
• Willingness to support intimate and personal care needs
• Full manual driving licence desirable
• Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Southdown)

Responsibilities

• Help individuals live independently and with dignity through daily living support
• Encourage clients to connect with their community via walks, cinema, shopping, and cafe visits
• Support activities and learning to increase confidence and independence
• Provide care and assistance across days with full training provided
