Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is seeking a full-time Social Worker to join the North & East Integrated Neighbourhood Team. You will manage a varied caseload of adults 17+ with complex needs, delivering strengths-based, person-centred support to achieve outcomes.

The role requires SCR/LA partnership collaboration, timely statutory assessments, safeguarding, and case management within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. Salary reflects SO grade and permanent, 37-hour contract.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and eligible to practise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to strengths-based and person-centred practice.
• Knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding adults guidance.

Responsibilities

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective support and intervention.
• Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews and support planning.
• Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decision-making processes.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and meet statutory timescales and performance requirements.
• Coordinate holistic, person-centred care and support arrangements.
