Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking four permanent full-time social workers for the Adult Social Care & Integrated Health service. You will work within adult locality/safeguarding teams, applying strengths-based practice to help individuals maintain independence and improve outcomes.

The role requires a recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England, with experience in assessing adults, collaborating with agencies, and applying Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005

Qualifications

• Recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Experience of working with adults and producing high-quality assessments.
• Ability to collaborate with agencies and interpret legislation (Care Act 2014; MCA 2005).
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and human rights considerations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake preventative work and risk assessments using community resources and services.
• Construct value-for-money care packages and arrange appropriate services.
• Work with individuals, families, carers and communities to promote independence and informed decision-making.
• Carry out high-quality assessments and collaborate with various agencies.
