Job summary

Harlow College is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to assist students with SEND, providing personalised support and coaching across the campus. You will help learners with learning tasks, promote independence, and work with staff and parents to ensure safe, effective support.

The role requires strong organisational skills, commitment to safeguarding, and the ability to work autonomously in a busy further education environment.

Qualifications

• You will have a desire to work with young people with SEND needs and strong administrative and organisational skills.
• You will be educated to a minimum Maths & English at Grade 4/Grade C.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to students to help them fulfil potential, clarify content, and differentiate materials.
• Provide personal and intimate care support as per care plans, while promoting independence and dignity.
• Collaborate with parents, healthcare professionals, SEND staff and colleagues to meet learners' needs safely.
• Support during assessments, exams, revision, inductions, visits and employability activities.
• Promote safeguarding wellbeing of vulnerable adults and young people in contact with you.
• Keep accurate records of learning support and course documentation per college systems.
