Job summary

Supply Heroes is recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham, starting October 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. The role focuses on supporting pupils with a range of SEN, fostering inclusion and helping students access learning.

You will work across KS3 and KS4, supporting interventions, promoting positive behaviour, and building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with SEN in a secondary setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support pupils within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and external professionals.
  • Encourage the development of social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
  • Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
