Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
• A patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
• Good understanding of a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech, language and communication difficulties
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities across the primary curriculum
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SLCN, and SEMH needs
• Help implement EHCPs and individual learning programmes
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development
• Promote positive behaviour using school policies
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, parents, and external agencies
• Assist with personal care where required, ensuring pupils' dignity, wellbeing, and safety are always maintained
