Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a Personal Care Teaching Assistant to support pupils in SEN schools in Rochdale. The role covers both primary and secondary age groups, full-time, 5 days per week, with an ASAP start.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality care and learning support. The ideal candidate will have experience providing personal care to children, plus SEN experience and the ability to support pupils with autism and complex needs, following

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN.
• Personal care experience with children.
• Experience supporting children with complex needs, autism and/or challenging behaviour.
• A DBS on the Update Service.
• References covering your most recent 2 years of employment/experience.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and support to pupils in a professional and dignified manner.
• Supporting children with complex and additional needs throughout the school day.
• Assisting pupils with autism and other SEN needs.
• Supporting children who may display challenging behaviour.
• Helping pupils access learning and participate in school activities.
• Supporting pupils with their individual care and educational needs.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
• Promoting pupils' independence, wellbeing and confidence.
• Following individual care plans and school safeguarding procedures.
