Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a Personal Care Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in SEN schools across Rochdale. The role involves providing personal care, learning support and positive engagement for both primary and secondary pupils.

We are seeking patient, resilient individuals with previous experience in SEN settings, who can work Monday to Friday, and who can uphold safeguarding and dignity at all times. DBS Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience providing personal care to children or young people.
• Experience working in an SEN school or with children with Special Educational Needs.
• A DBS on the Update Service.
• References covering the most recent 2 years of employment/experience.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and support to pupils in a professional and dignified manner.
• Supporting children with complex and additional needs throughout the school day.
• Assisting pupils with autism and other SEN needs.
• Supporting children who may display challenging behaviour.
• Helping pupils access learning and participate in school activities.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
• Promoting pupils' independence, wellbeing and confidence.
• Following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.
