Job summary

Aspire People Ltd. is recruiting a caring Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Oldham. You will support pupils with personal care, promoting dignity and independence throughout the school day.

The role involves working with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure pupils can fully participate in learning and school life. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient and a positive team player, with flexibility, reliability and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in care, support or personal care role.
• Understanding of person-centred care and promoting independence.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding and pre-employment checks.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care in line with individual care plans.
• Support pupils with toileting, changing and personal hygiene.
• Promote dignity, privacy and independence at all times.
• Assist pupils with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and the wider support team.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school care procedures.
• Maintain accurate records where required.
• Support pupils to access learning, activities and the wider school environment safely and comfortably.
