Job summary

Agincare is recruiting a Residential Support Worker to join our brand-new Children's Residential Home in Salisbury. You will provide compassionate care to children with learning disabilities, supporting daily routines and helping them grow in a safe, nurturing environment.

No prior experience is required as full training is provided; NVQ Level 3 commitment is welcomed. The role includes evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins, with a supportive team and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting children with learning disabilities
• Patience, resilience, and emotional intelligence
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Physically and mentally fit for the role
• Positive attitude and team-player mindset
• Hold or be committed to completing NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Residential Childcare
• Driving licence (desirable)
• Availability for evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people
• Support daily routines from school runs and mealtimes to play and bedtime
• Help children learn life skills and independence
• Work as part of a team to ensure safety and care
• Support care plans, routines, and risk assessments (with training)
• Handle challenging behaviour with empathy using a therapeutic approach
• Participate in fun, active days; every day is different
• Be part of the sleep-in rota (average ~4 per month)
