Job summary

Education Matters Group is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant for a long-term role at a West Molesey primary school. You will support lessons, work with individuals and small groups, and help children build literacy, numeracy and communication skills.

You will foster positive behaviour, confidence and independent learning while preparing resources and tracking pupil progress in collaboration with the teaching team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Patient, approachable and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils who need additional guidance.
• Help children develop their literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independent learning.
• Prepare classroom resources and support engaging learning activities.
• Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
