Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a primary school setting. You will work with individuals and groups, preparing resources and helping children access learning, while promoting positive behaviour and independence.

Applicants should have experience in a primary environment, strong communication and teamwork, and a patient, proactive approach. An Enhanced DBS (with Update Service) is preferred, or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring and encouraging manner with pupils.
• Ability to tailor support to individual learning needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude with willingness to take initiative.
• Strong safeguarding and pupil well-being commitment.
• Enhanced DBS with Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with learning activities.
• Working with pupils individually and in small groups.
• Helping children of varying abilities to access their learning.
• Preparing resources and assisting with organisation of classroom activities.
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Sharing observations of pupil progress with the teacher.
• Adhering to school routines and safeguarding procedures.
