Job summary

Winstanley College in Billinge, Wigan, is seeking a dedicated Personal Tutor to support students’ academic progress, personal development and wellbeing throughout their time at College. You will provide regular tutorials, monitor attendance and progress and help students set and achieve education and career goals.

Working within the Guidance team, you will liaise with subject tutors, support services and parents as appropriate, promote a positive inclusive environment and maintain accurate

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Passion for supporting young people to achieve their best.
• Understanding of safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular one-to-one and group tutorials to support students’ academic, personal and social development.
• Monitor and track student attendance, progress and behaviour.
• Support students in setting realistic academic and career goals and creating action plans.
• Liaise with subject tutors, support service and parents/carers as appropriate.
• Identify and refer students requiring additional support to relevant College services.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in line with College policies.
