Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEND) in Northamptonshire to support students with additional learning needs. This temporary role offers 1:1 and small group support, and opportunities to work with teachers to implement learning plans.

Candidates should have Level 2 English and Maths, experience with ASD/ADHD/SEMH, and a patient, empathetic approach. Pay is £14.24–£17 per hour, with potential for ongoing placements.

Qualifications

• Level 2 minimum in English and Maths.
• Recent and demonstrable experience of supporting people with additional learning needs.
• Experience working with ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, BSL.
• A calm, patient, and caring personality.
• Ability to operate with empathy and the ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Able to work independently using own initiative.
• A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote confidence and independence.
• Support students’ academic progress and personal development.
• Work closely with teaching staff to implement learning plans and schemes of learning.
• Play a key role in helping learners achieve their goals and succeed in college.
