Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a secondary-aged Pupil Referral Unit in Caerphilly. The role is full-time and temporary, starting ASAP until Christmas, to support pupils with ASD and EBD and help them engage with learning.

You will work on building positive relationships, managing behaviours and supporting pupil progression within the provision. A resilient, patient and adaptable approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with ALN.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, EBD and/or challenging behaviour.
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A resilient and patient approach.
• Adaptability and a 'can-do' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged pupils with ASD and EBD, helping them engage with learning.
• Support behaviour management and develop positive relationships within the provision.
• Contribute to inclusion and engagement within a PRU setting.
