Oaklands College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities within curriculum areas. You will collaborate with curriculum staff and the ALS team to provide tailored support, helping students develop independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• 1 year of general work experience in roles with students in education, prisons, or community settings.
• 5 GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent.
• Level 2 qualifications in English and maths.
• 1 year of experience in a Learning Support/ALS role (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide support for individuals or groups of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Work with curriculum tutors and ALS team to support academic, emotional and social needs.
• Assist with breakdown of tasks, organisation, behaviour and personal care where needed.
• Contribute to reviews, develop SMART targets, and advocate for students as required.
