Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, for a full-time term-time-only role starting September 2026. You will work with teachers to provide tailored support so students can access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children in education or care settings, a patient, proactive attitude, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational, care or support settings.
• Patient, positive and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing classroom support to students across a range of subjects.
• Working with pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEND.
• Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence.
• Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Supporting students both academically and socially throughout the school day.
