Job summary

Hampton Gardens Secondary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion and SEND team. The role focuses on supporting students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs and SEMH needs, through intervention, induction and small-group learning.

The post involves monitoring progress, feeding back to teachers, and supporting clubs during breaks, lunch and after school on a term-time basis. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people.
• Some experience supporting students with additional needs.
• Proactive, patient and passionate about supporting students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with additional needs to engage, progress and succeed.
• Support students with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
• Support student induction, assessment, intervention and ongoing learning.
• Assist with planning and delivery of learning activities for individuals and small groups.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to teachers.
• Support teaching staff and work with the Inclusion, SEND and Pastoral teams, including the SENDCo and SEN Leadership Team.
• Contribute to improving attendance and raising standards.
• Support targeted activities or clubs at break, lunchtime or after school as part of the Achievement Support programme.
