Job summary

Bridge-It Housing in the United Kingdom seeks a Housing Support Worker to provide community-based support to clients, accessing benefits, health, education and banking services. The role involves independent casework, travel within the local area and maintaining detailed client records.

You will guide clients to essential services, build confidence and support their independence. A driving licence and vehicle access are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in support, customer-facing or community roles such as care, education or housing.
• Able to support people with complex needs using empathy, patience and a person-centred approach.
• Experience of supporting vulnerable people or understanding homelessness, mental health and financial hardship.
• Able to work independently, manage a varied workload, keep accurate records and provide reliable community-based support.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work is essential.

Responsibilities

• Help clients access key services and practical support (benefits, health, education, employment, banking).
• Support clients to build confidence, independence and social connections.
• Complete sign-ups, maintain accurate records and assist with key documents and service monitoring.
• Hold regular support sessions, attend key appointments and conduct welfare checks.
• Work with agencies, landlords and providers to coordinate joined-up support for clients.
• Carry out risk assessments, maintain confidentiality and manage workload to high standards.
• Support colleagues and volunteers and promote equality and diversity.
