Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Sheffield to help children and young people lead positive lives in our residential services. You will provide high-quality care, support, and guidance as part of a professional team, developing individual care plans to support development and education goals.

You will work with professionals to safeguard and support daily living, life skills, and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for working with children and young people.
• Excellent communication skills with families and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Experience in residential care or similar is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily living activities, including personal care, education, and recreation.
• Encourage positive behaviour and provide emotional and practical support to build self-esteem.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with children, ensuring stability.
• Implement care plans and meet individual needs.
• Safeguard children and report concerns promptly per procedures.
• Support development of communication, socialisation, and independence skills.
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment that supports growth.
• Assist with reviews and track progress toward goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
