Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Personal Advisor for the Leaving Care Team at Scott House, Huntingdon. You will support care leavers aged 18–25 with independent living, Pathway Plans and coordinated services across education, housing and health.

You'll build trusted relationships, maintain records, and travel across Cambridgeshire and beyond. A proactive, relationship-based approach and NVQ Level 3 qualification are essential for this rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant work area.
• Commit to working with young people from diverse backgrounds, promoting good outcomes for all our care leavers.
• Excellent organisational skills with personal resilience and a passion for working with young people to improve their outcomes.
• Ability to travel around Cambridgeshire and to other locations across the country as needed.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies that relate to care leavers.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and co-create meaningful Pathway Plans for care leavers.
• Provide guidance, advice and practical support for independent living.
• Maintain regular, purposeful contact and keep clear, accurate records.
• Collaborate with families, friends and professionals across education, housing and health.
• Support duty and the Personal Advisor team in delivering a joined-up service.
