The job itself

An opportunity has arisen for an Employment Support Worker based at Worklink, Sewerby Bridlington.

Worklink is a team within the Directorate of Adults Specialist Services supporting adults who have a learning disability or autism to obtain paid employment, based at Sewerby Worklink.

The Employment Support Worker will work as part of a motivated team. The post holder will be responsible for work-based training for people with a learning disability and autism, enabling adults to learn practical, social, and independence skills. This includes teaching horticulture skills to facilitate progression towards and into employment.

We are looking for a motivated and focused individual who has drive and energy. You must be able to work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills. This role is six hours daily, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm.

You will ensure that the service operates in a safe and effective manner on a day-to-day basis and implement and adhere to all service procedures, including health and safety procedures. All relevant training will be provided. The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate on commencement of the post, which will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with adults with a learning disability. Candidates should possess the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure high standards.
