About the Role: STEP UP is Wakefield Council's flagship employment support programme, helping local residents move towards and into good work. We are proud of the outstanding results our team achieves and are excited to welcome new talent to join our newly formed STEPUP Connect to Work team. As an Employment Specialist (SEQF), you will support a diverse range of residents, whether employed, unemployed, or economically inactive. Whilst you may be asked to support residents with all types of backgrounds the roles available through this vacancy are to work primarily with residents who are either working with the Probation Service, or who have a Learning Disability/Autism. Applicants should indicate, as part of their application, which of these groups they would prefer to work with and give reasons, such as previous personal or professional experience for choosing this group. Applicants for Probation Service roles should note that they will be expected to work directly with Probation Service staff and will be based in these premises for a significant amount of their working week. Using a person- centred approach, you will help individuals move into work following the Supported Employment (SEQF) model, ensuring that support is fully compliant with both contract and quality framework requirements, including those for employer engagement. A person- centred approach will also be required.
