Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking an Employment Solicitor with 1–4 years’ PQE to join a busy Employment team in Milton Keynes or Northampton. You will advise employers and employees, draft contracts, and assist with TUPE and tribunal matters.

The role offers a varied workload and opportunities to develop client relationships within a supportive department. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, with a comprehensive benefits package and a clear path to progression.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years’ PQE in employment law required.
• Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters preferred.
• Exposure to both claimant and respondent work is desirable.
• Strong drafting, advisory and negotiation skills essential.
• Some Employment Tribunal advocacy experience is a plus.
• Commercial awareness and ability to advise clients at varying seniority levels.
• Interest in business development and long-term client relationships.

Eventus Legal Recruitment is working with a well-established law firm looking to appoint an Employment Solicitor with 1–4 years’ PQE to join its busy and growing Employment team, based in either Milton Keynes or Northampton.

This is an opportunity to join an established team of eight, working across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The role would suit a solicitor who enjoys the variety of employment law, is commercially minded and wants to continue developing their experience within a supportive and collaborative department.

The Role

As an Employment Solicitor, you will advise on a range of employment law matters, working with both employers and employees. Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising clients on day-to-day employment law and HR matters.

• Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks.

• Advising on settlement agreements, redundancies and Employment Tribunal claims.

• Supporting corporate transactions, including TUPE matters and employment due diligence.

• Managing your own caseload, with appropriate supervision and support.

• Getting involved in business development, client training and marketing activities.

The work is varied, offering the opportunity to build on your existing experience while developing relationships with clients and becoming more involved in the wider activities of the department.

About You

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors with approximately 1–4 years’ PQE in employment law.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

• Exposure to both claimant and respondent work.

• Strong drafting, advisory and negotiation skills.

• Some experience of Employment Tribunal advocacy.

• Commercial awareness and the confidence to advise clients at different levels of seniority.

• An interest in business development and building long-term client relationships.

• A personable, approachable manner and the ability to work well within a team.

Previous experience gained within a city or medium-to-large regional practice would be advantageous, although the firm is equally interested in hearing from solicitors with the right experience and approach.
