Hawthorne-Finch Talent Solutions is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate Employment Solicitor in Northampton with 5+ years’ PQE. You will run your own caseload, advising employers on contentious and non-contentious matters, including settlement agreements and HR issues.

You’ll join a collaborative firm with broad practice groups and a strong marketing support for BD activity. You will contribute to leadership growth within the team, with a genuine opportunity to shape and grow a department

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales)
• 5+ years’ PQE in employment law
• Strong technical ability across contentious and non-contentious employment work
• Client-first approach and confident communication
• Willingness to engage in business development and team growth

Responsibilities

• Manage your own employment caseload from instruction through to completion
• Advise employer clients on contentious and non-contentious matters
• Draft and advise on settlement agreements and day-to-day HR issues
• Support on corporate matters connected to M&A transactions
• Advise on restructurings, changes to terms and conditions, and redundancy exercises
• Assist with compliance (e.g., Modern Slavery Act) and data protection in employment work
• Represent clients in employment tribunal matters
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas on projects
• Contribute to business development and networking to build client relationships

Associate / Senior Associate Employment Solicitor

Location: Northampton

Salary: £60,000 to £85,000 plus bonus and benefits

Experience: 5+ years’ PQE (guide only)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced employment solicitor who wants genuine scope to shape and grow a team, while joining a firm with established Legal 500 support already in place.

Our client is looking to recruit an Associate / Senior Associate Employment Solicitor into their Northampton office, supporting a significant new leadership appointment and continued growth plans. You will run your own caseload with autonomy, while being part of a wider, collaborative group that includes Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Litigation and Commercial Property teams.

You will handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work for both employer and employee clients, with the chance to get involved in wider projects and cross-team matters. Business development is an important part of the role, and you will have support from an award-winning marketing team to help you build profile, networks and new opportunities.

You will run your own caseload with autonomy, while being part of a wider, collaborative group that includes Corporate and Commercial, Commercial Litigation and Commercial Property teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing your own employment caseload from instruction through to completion

• Advising employer clients on contentious and non-contentious employment matters

• Advising on settlement agreements and day-to-day HR/operational issues

• Supporting on corporate support work connected to M&A transactions

• Advising on restructuring projects, changes to terms and conditions, and redundancy exercises

• Assisting with Modern Slavery Act compliance

• Supporting on data protection compliance matters linked to employment work

• Advising on Boardroom/SMT disputes

• Representing clients in employment tribunal matters

• Working collaboratively on projects with colleagues across other practice areas

• Contributing to business development through networking, new contacts and wider team engagement

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales)

• Ideally 5+ years’ PQE (guide only) in employment law

• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of matters

• Strong technical ability across contentious and non-contentious employment work

• Confident communicator with a client-first approach

• Commercially minded and pragmatic in your advice

• Willingness to get involved in business development and team growth
