Job summary

Northumberland Skills is seeking an Employment Coach to deliver tailored employability support to residents across Northumberland on The Restart Scheme. You will manage a caseload, assess needs, and help participants progress towards sustainable employment.

The role involves delivering job-search assistance, CVs, interview prep, and workshops, building relationships with employers and partners, and maintaining accurate records to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Experience of providing employability or welfare-to-work support to individuals facing barriers to employment.
• Experience managing a caseload and supporting participants to achieve agreed goals and positive outcomes.
• Ability to build effective relationships with participants, employers, and partner organisations.
• Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience of working towards performance targets and achieving outcomes such as participant engagement, job starts, and sustained employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored employability support to help individuals move towards sustainable employment.
• Assess individual needs, identify barriers to work, and develop personalised action plans to support progression.
• Deliver job search support, including CV development, applications, interview preparation, and employment-focused workshops.
• Build relationships with employers and partners to identify opportunities, match participants to vacancies, and support job outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and performance information, ensuring contractual targets and compliance requirements are met.
